Lutheran Church of the Cross in Punta Gorda bids farewell to Vicar B. Andrew Wright and his wife, Rebekah. He will be returning to Ft. Wayne, Indiana to complete his final year of training. We hold cherished thoughts and memories and have benefited by Vicar Wright's youthful presence, his enthusiasm, his humble attitude, and his servant spirit. We wish Vicar Wright and Rebekah Godspeed. Join us as we prepare to welcome with open arms our new Vicar Brummett and family this coming week.

Rummage Sale
The Parish Guild and Thrivent Financial for Lutherans will be holding the annual “Fall Rummage Sale” on Friday, October 29th & Saturday, October 30th from 7:30 am to 2:00 pm. Breakfast and lunch will be served both days. Thrivent Financial for Lutherans will again do matching funds for our designated projects: Lighthouse Outreach Center, Inc, and sponsor for 4 developmentally disabled campers at Bethesda Lutheran Homes and Services Camp Matz. So start cleaning out those closets and garages to help these worthy charities! Items may be dropped off Monday October 25th through Wednesday October 27th from 9 am to 5 pm and on Thursday, October 28th from 9 am to 1 pm. MAJOR RETAILERS WANT TO GIVE OUR CHURCH MONEY!!!
We have joined together with retailers to raise money to further our ministry programs. We can do it with “SCRIP,” the revolutionary fundraising method that can raise tens of thousands of dollars for Lutheran Church of the Cross. With SCRIP fundraising, our members simply do their regular weekly shopping with gift cards from America's favorite retailers. With each purchase, our church earns cash rebates that can quickly add up. We will be introducing this exciting program in the upcoming weeks.
